The Youngstown school board has eight applicants for the post of district treasurer being vacated by Carolyn Funk. They are:

Holly Airhart of Youngstown, the district’s current assistant treasurer.

Sherry Tyson of Youngstown, the district’s head accountant.

Robert Stamm of Mars, Pa., employed by PG Publishing Co., publisher of the Post-Gazette newspaper.

Carol McElfresh of Sylvania, Ohio, treasurer and chief financial officer of Sylvania city schools.

Brian Gillespie of Cortland, treasurer of Champion schools.

Ryan Ghizzoni of Austintown, treasurer of Lorain city schools.

William Johnson of McDonald, treasurer of Joseph Badger schools.

Anthony Swartz of North Baltimore, Ohio, a CPA, and former treasurer of Anthony Wayne Local School District, which is south of Toledo.
