Academic Success Fair is set at Youngstown State


YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown State University’s Center for Student Progress is sponsoring its first Academic Success Fair today and Wednesday on the campus core outside Kilcawley Center.

Open to all YSU students, the event is running from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days.

The fair was created to reach out to students after the first few weeks of classes and connect them with the academic support services available on campus.

Representatives will be available to answer questions provide information about all undergraduate colleges, Career & Counseling Services, Center for Student Progress, Adult Learner Services, Disability Services, First-Year Student Services, Individual Intervention Services, Multicultural Student Services, Student Tutorial Services, Supplemental Instruction Services, Language Learning & Resource Center, Maag Library, Mathematics Assistance Center, Reading & Study Skills Center, Wilcox Curriculum Resource Center and the Writing Center.

Students will be given a passport and will may visit each representative to obtain a passport stamp/sticker. Students obtaining five stamps/stickers will receive a penguin key chain. Those who acquire eight stamps will be entered for a chance to win one of several prizes, including flash drives, gift certificates for local eateries, gift baskets and more.
