TREEZ PLEASE About the group


Treez Please is a newly formed group in the area.

Officers: Atty. Debra Weaver, president; Frank Bishop, first vice president; Ralph Malmer, second vice president; Susie Beiersdorfer, secretary; and Jean Engle, treasurer.

Mission: To reforest the Youngstown-area community. The group also is contributing to Youngstown’s 2010 agenda by positive use of green space and working to gain recognition as a Tree City USA.

Status: Nonprofit organization.

Meetings: Next board meeting is 5:30 p.m. Thursday at First Unitarian Universalist Church, 1105 Elm St., Youngstown. Visitors may attend.

Resources: Among resources tapped by the group are the Ohio Department of Forestry; Ohio State University’s “how-to” booklet on trees; and Audubon Society, which offers information on backyard habitats for birds, butterflies and bees.
