Suburban League races on tap
CANFIELD — Boardman High’s boys and girls cross country teams, which swept the Suburban League regular-season championships, will go for the sweep Tuesday in the league championships at the Canfield Fairgrounds.
The varsity girls race will start at 4:30 p.m. and will be followed by the boys varsity run. The girls and boys middle school races will follow.
McDonald, which placed second, and, Maplewood which was fourth at Saturday’s Spartan Invitational boys Division III run, also will contend for team honors.
McDonald’s T.J. Holland was fourth (16:57) at the Spartan, while Boardman’s Matt Moore (16:26) and Sam Deskin (16:34) were 10th and 17th, respectively, in the Div. I run.
The girls varsity run will feature Christina Oles of Mooney, Lauren Agnew of Boardman, Nicole Culler and Rebbeca Owen of West Branch, Audrey Maheu of Warren JFK, Samantha Hamilton of Jackson-Milton and Stephanie Case of Columbiana.
