How players of area interest fared in Sunday’s games:
Jeff Wilkins, Rams (Fitch/YSU) — Wilkins made an extra point and converted 3-of-4 field goal attempts in St. Louis’ 17-16 loss to the 49ers. Wilkins made field goals from 27, 29 and 53 yards, but was short on a 56-yard attempt with 1:04 remaining in the game. His 53-yarder with 10:04 remaining gave the Rams a 16-14 lead.
Anthony Smith, Steelers (Hubbard) — The backup defensive back had two tackles in the Steelers’ 26-3 victory over the Buffalo Bills. He has six tackles in two games.
Marlin Jackson, Colts (Sharon) — The former Michigan standout had six tackles in the Colts’ 22-20 win over the Tennessee Titans. Jackson has 20 tackles in the Colts’ first two games, both wins.
Brad Smith, Jets (Chaney) — The former Missouri quarterback caught one pass for 8 yards in the Jets’ loss to Baltimore. He had one other pass thrown to him from quarterback K. Clemens but it was incomplete. The reception was Smith’s first of the season.
Prescott Burgess, Ravens (Warren Harding) — The former Michigan linebacker did not record any statistics in Baltimore’s victory over the Jets.
