XYOUNGSTOWN — Vows were exchanged in the presence of the Rev. David Rhodes as Jennifer L. Carter of Boardman and Jake A. Hartman of Canfield were united in marriage during a 2 p.m. ceremony Aug. 4 at St. Christine Church.
After a reception at Mahoning Country Club in Girard, the couple left on a cruise to the Bahamas. Upon return, they live in Boardman.
James and Kim Stefanak of Murrells Inlet, S.C., are parents of the bride, and the groom’s parents are Jeff and Sue Hartman of Canfield.
The bride’s white satin halter style gown featured a V-neckline, side drape, beaded bodice, laced-up back and a chapel train.
Black gowns were worn by the honor attendants, Cheryl Slagle and Louise Frey, and the bridesmaids, Jessica Gifford; Amy Doran; and Jessica Ensley, Kristen Moore, and Janiel Housel, cousins of the groom. Flower girls were Kayla Slagle and the groom’s goddaughter, Tori Hartman.
Serving as best man was the groom’s brother, Cody Hartman, and groomsmen Kyle Kuntz; Chuck Eddy; Cory Ensley and Clint Moore, cousins of the groom; Joe Campbell; and Bill Hartsock.
Mrs. Hartman is a special education teacher with Canfield Village Middle School. She graduated from Youngstown State University with an intervention specialist degree.
Mr. Hartman, the owner of Lawns by Jake in Boardman, is attending YSU.
