Trumbull SWCD nominations sought

CORTLAND — The Trumbull Soil & Water Conservation District is accepting nominations for anyone interested in serving on the district’s board of supervisors.

Soil and water conservation districts, located in all 88 Ohio counties, provide natural resource management assistance to county landowners and other government bodies.

A five-member board governs the SWCD district. These volunteers serve staggered three-year terms.

Any resident at least 18 years old who resides within Trumbull County can seek election to the board.

Names can be placed on the ballot in one of two ways: through nomination by the Trumbull SWCD nominating committee by writing a letter of interest with background and qualifications to Trumbull SWCD, 520 West Main St., Suite 3, Cortland, Ohio 44410 by Monday or by picking up a nominating form and securing 10 signatures on it from county residents and/or landowners and submitting it by Sept. 28 to the district office.

The election of officers will take place Nov. 2.
