What to do

Here’s how to re-register on the Pennsylvania and national Do Not Call registries, and how to file complaints about violators:

Pennsylvania: Use the attorney general’s Web site at www.attorneygeneral.gov.or call (888) 777-3406.

For Ohioans: Call (888) 382-1222 or register online at www.donotcall.gov.

COMPLAINTS

Consumers who are registered and have been on the Do Not Call list for at least 31 days and have either received calls from a nonexempt telemarketing company or have received calls from a company 30 days after placing their number on an internal list, can file a complaint with the Pennsylvania attorney general’s office at the Web site and phone numbers listed above.

Ohioans can also file a complaint against the telemarketer in small-claims court.

When filing a complaint, consumers should provide: telephone number the telemarketer called, date and time of the call, name or phone number of the telemarketer, consumer’s name and address.
