South side man hospitalized after stabbing

YOUNGSTOWN — Andre Underwood, 23, of Parkhill Avenue was in serious condition today at St. Elizabeth Health Center after being stabbed in the stomach, right arm and nose.

Officers on their way to Underwood’s home around 12:40 a.m. came across a car with its lights out traveling on Parkhill and discovered Underwood in the passenger seat. It wasn’t immediately clear who was driving.

Underwood told police that he was stabbed with a small pocket knife by an ex-girlfriend who knocked on his door and then tried to push her way in. The woman then drove away, reports show.
