Ron Chick’s Friends to perform at The Embassy

STRUTHERS — A big band dinner-dance featuring Ron Chick’s Friends and vocalist Bobby Remp will be Sept. 23 at The Embassy, Youngstown-Poland Road.

Chick’s 22-piece band is made up of alumni of some famous big bands, including the Jimmy Dorsey, Tommy Dorsey, Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson and Glen Miller orchestras. It performs the music many in the area associate with the Idora Park ballroom, including Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darrin, Tony Bennett and Nat King Cole.

The Embassy, at 5030 Youngstown-Poland Road, has a large and newly remodeled dance floor.

Doors open at 5 p.m., with a buffet dinner served at 5:20 p.m. Tickets are $35. For those who want to come only for the concert-dance, doors open at 6:30 p.m., and tickets are $22.
