Melody Rice to be bride of Steven Ward

XAnnouncement of the engagement of Melody Rice, 8016 Aquadale Drive, Boardman, and Steven Ward, 5588 London Drive, Austintown, is being made by the couple’s parents.

The bride-elect is a daughter of Dennis and Bernadette Rice of the Aquadale Drive address, and parents of the prospective groom are Larry and Mary Ward, 3474 Darbyshire Drive, Austintown.

The couple are planning to be married at 4:30 p.m. Oct. 6 at Julia’s Bed and Breakfast in Hubbard, where a reception will follow. Invitations will be extended for both events.

Miss Rice is a seventh-grade language arts teacher at Austintown Middle School. She received her bachelor’s degree in English from Kent State University and her master’s in integrated language arts from Griffith University in Brisbane, Australia.

Mr. Ward, who holds a bachelor’s degree in English education from Youngstown State University, is a language arts teacher at Austintown Fitch High School and is also Freedom Writers teacher. He is pursuing a master’s in curriculum and instruction at KSU.
