McWilson’s goal aids Mooney’s 1-0 win in Hudson
Hubbard’s Miles Williams had two goals and an assist in a 6-0 shutout of LaBrae.
HUDSON — Junior forward Matt McWilson scored five minutes into the second half to lead the Mooney High boys soccer team to a 1-0 victory over Western Reserve Academy.
Junior midfielder James Simon assisted on the goal.
Mooney, the fourth-ranked Div. II team in the state, is 6-0.
Goalkeeper Angel Rodriguez made 13 saves for Western Reserve Pioneers (0-2-2).

HUBBARD — Miles Williams scored two goals and one assist for the Eagles (3-2-1, 3-0-1). Phillip Pesch, Jeremy Frazzini, Gabe Hitchcock and Alex Chick scored the other goals.
Pesch had two assists while Frazzini, John Madeline and Steve Wittkugle had one each. Goalkeeper Galen Hayek made four saves.
LaBrae goalkeeper Andrew Ozanich made 14 saves.
Newton Falls 5, Harding 1
NEWTON FALLS — Moritz Braake, a senior foreign exchange student from Germany, scored two goals, while seniors Richie Peterson and Jarrod Cooper and sophomore Craig Maas had a goal apiece for Newton Falls (4-3).
Justin Chapin had the goal for Harding (0-8).
Harding goalie Ryan Burk made 12 saves while Newton Falls stoppers David Pagano and Devin Crislip made six and two saves, respectively.
Heartland Christian 8, Leetonia 3
COLUMBIANA — Senior Seth Grubaugh had two goals while Tyler Fountain, Owen Stryffeler, Kyle Knepper, Durand Foutz, Ben McCown and Allen Wei had one apiece for Heartland Christian (8-1).
Chris Palmer and Treg Lunger each had an assist for the Lions.
Aaron Shields, Tyler Burgess and Palmer combined for 14 saves for the winners, who had 34 shots on goal.
Heartland’s lone loss was to Portersville, Pa.
West Branch 5, Canton South 0
CANTON — Logan Schaefer, Jared Cameron, Aaron Lamancusa, Sam Vuletich and Marc Steer scored a goal apiece for the Warriors.
Caleb Capron, Schaefer and Lamancusa each had an assist. Chance Young and Cameron had six and three saves while Phillip Strauss had 12 for Canton South.
