Man arrested in shooting death

YOUNGSTOWN — Police arrested Tramaine McDonald, 27, of Donald Street on a warrant charging him with murder in the July 9 shooting death of Rodney M. Brown.

Authorities said Brown, 45, of Kendis Drive, was caught in crossfire from at least three vehicles in the Speed Check parking lot at 1050 McGuffey Road around 2 a.m. July 9. He was hit in the upper left leg and died of his wound.

McDonald, arrested without incident at his home around 1:45 p.m. Tuesday, was taken to Mahoning County jail to await arraignment.

A second man, Gerald W. Hardaway, 45, of West Ravenwood Avenue, was indicted by a Mahoning County grand jury in August on a murder charge with a firearm specification in the case.
