Forum Health agrees to sell Trumbull Memorial Hospital

WARREN — The Forum Health Board of Trustees today announced that it has signed a

nonbinding letter of intent with Signature Hospital Corp. of Texas for the purchase Trumbull Memorial Hospital here.

The signing of the letter is the beginning of an exploratory process in which both organizations conduct extensive research, known as due diligence, Forum Health said in a news release.

This process, which can take several weeks to several months, must be completed before any formal purchase offer is presented, the release said.

If the parties are able to reach a definitive agreement, the transaction would be subject to approval by the Ohio State Attorney General’s office.

Signature Hospital, based in Houston, Texas, has a proven track record in enhancing patient care and safety in the community hospitals it owns and operates.

The company promotes local autonomy and broad decision-making latitude for its hospitals so that they can best serve the health-care needs of their communities, Forum officials said.
