GIRARD

Sept. 8

Assault: A Maple Avenue man alleged his girlfriend punched him in the mouth as he dropped her off at her residence. The accuser had a minor injury.

Breaking and entering: Someone removed part of an overhang and entered a concession stand on Highland Avenue through a hole before ransacking and damaging the stand’s interior.

Criminal damaging: A North State Street man discovered someone likely used a vehicle to strike the front end of his apartment building, damaging a door, surrounding walls and an overhead garage door. Damage was estimated at $8,000.

Sept. 9

Theft: An East Prospect Street woman reported a male took her son’s bicycle from their yard.

Criminal damaging: An Austintown man noticed someone cut his car’s right front tire as he visited a family member at her Gordon Street residence.

Sept. 10

Drugs: While observing possible drug activity on East Liberty Street, officers arrested a Girard man, 34, on a charge of trafficking in marijuana. Found in the car was a duffel bag containing 108 grams of the suspected drug packaged in four smaller bags, police said.

Theft: A Louis Circle man reported someone left in his car containing the victim's driver's license and various personal papers.

Theft: A Youngstown man reported the theft of a wallet from his car while in the 700 block of South State Street.

Menacing: A man told police three people drove by his North State Street residence and displayed threatening gestures simulating pointing a gun.

Aggravated menacing: A Highland Avenue woman reported three people threatened to kill her, and that one threatened to dismember her.

Menacing: A Washington Avenue woman alleged a 45-year-old neighbor threatened to shoot the accuser if she entered his property. She also told officers that the neighbor deliberately started his truck, letting exhaust fumes into her home.

Sept. 11

Vandalism: A Jones Court man accused a 22-year-old man of tearing out at least 30 plants and flowers at his residence, and of inserting a hose into a dryer vent, damaging some contents in his basement.

LIBERTY

Sept. 6

Theft: A man reported $400 was removed from coin-operated laundry machines at a Gypsy Lane apartment complex.

Robbery: Police picked up a Girard man, 33, shortly after a patron at Masters Bar & Grill, 1675 Trumbull Ave., alleged the man punched him and placed him in a choke hold as he confronted the man accused of stealing a bottle of an alcoholic beverage. The suspect was charged with robbery.

Arrest: While investigating suspicious activity near Colonial Drive, authorities arrested a 41-year-old Youngstown woman on charges of falsification and possession of drug paraphernalia. She gave a false name and date of birth, and had two suspected crack pipes in her purse, police said.

Breaking and entering: Someone forced open a rear window to a residence in the 500 block of Mansell Drive before stealing roughly 100 feet of copper piping.

Sept. 7

Drugs: A traffic stop on Church Hill-Hubbard Road led to the arrest of a 19-year-old Girard man on charges of possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police said they found a plastic bag with suspected marijuana and a suspected marijuana pipe.

Forgery: A Whippoorwill Way man noticed that after receiving from his bank a copy of a $70 check he had written, someone altered the check by having it made out for $170.

Theft: A Logan Gate Road woman told police that as she tried to buy her boyfriend a motorcycle online, she lost $2,839 in the transaction.

Sept. 8

Theft: A Laurel Street man reported the theft of his son’s $40 bicycle.

Sept. 9

Damage: A building in the 10 block of Belgrade Avenue sustained damage, possibly by being struck with golf balls.

Assault: A Hubbard woman alleged a Mineral Ridge woman, 22, struck her in the face near Belmont Avenue after accusing the victim of stealing $150 from her. The Hubbard woman had an injury to her jaw.

Theft: A Navarre, Ohio, woman staying at an East Liberty Street motel discovered $800 missing from her room.

Sept. 10

Theft/criminal damaging: A Tibbetts-Wick Road man saw that a window was broken and a key had been used to damage the finish on his car’s passenger-side door. He also discovered his wallet was taken.

Theft: A man in his late 30s or early 40s took a plastic container and assorted merchandise from Dollar General, 4425 Logan Way.

Robbery: A Hubbard man reported four men jumped him and beat him up at a Trumbull Court residence before taking $700 from him. The victim had red marks on his face.
