Boardman couple charged with burglary, forgery

BOARDMAN — A man police say claimed to be an exterminator to gain access to several apartments turned out to be the real pest.

Derek Blackburn, 35, of Lemans Drive, was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary and one each for forgery and receiving stolen property.

His girlfriend, Glenda Williams, 60, also of Lemans, was charged with two counts each of forgery and receiving stolen property.

Blackburn is accused of saying he was an exterminator to gain access to homes and apartments on Afton Avenue, Mathews Road and Southern Boulevard over the last several weeks.

A resident would let him in and he’d steal checks and credit cards.

An 88-year-old woman, who lives on Mathews Road, was one of the victims.
