Ten free trees will be given to each person from Ohio who joins the Arbor Day Foundation during September.

The free trees are part of the nonprofit foundation’s Trees for America campaign, a program dedicated to environmental stewardship through the planting of trees.

The 10 trees are the eastern red bud, white pine, sugar maple, white flowering dogwood, pin oak, red maple, river birch, silver maple, northern red oak and Colorado blue spruce.

The trees will be shipped postpaid at the right time for planting, between Oct. 15 and Dec. 10.

The six- to 12-inch trees are guaranteed to grow or they will be replaced free of charge.

Planting instructions are enclosed with each shipment of trees.

Members also will receive “The Tree Book,” which includes information about tree planting and care.
