Comparisons
All three major religions believe in one God, and are collectively known as “Abrahamic religions” because they trace their history to the covenant God made with Abraham in the Hebrew Bible. Here are some other similarities.
Ethical life: All three believe in a righteous God that demands that believers lead ethical lives that make a clear distinction between right and wrong and good and evil.
Afterlife: Islam and Christianity are very close. They believe in resurrection, judgment, heaven and hell. In Judaism, the concept of an afterlife is not highly developed.
Jesus: Islam and Christianity believe in the virgin birth, but Muslims do not accept Jesus as the son of God. They do, however, see him as a great prophet who brings the same message as Islam. Jews believe that Jesus was a Jewish man who was born in Bethlehem, raised in Galilee and killed in Jerusalem.
