A summary of recent criminal activity in Hubbard and Girard:

HUBBARD

Sept. 2

Criminal mischief: A woman found a profanity written in dirt on her vehicle as she left Hubbard High School, 350 Hall Ave.

Assault: A Hubbard man told police a Girard woman assaulted him. No other information was in the report.

Sept. 4

Assault: Police found a man’s face covered in blood as he walked on Jones Street. The victim said three people had assaulted him at a park near Hillcrest Street.

Possible theft: A Park Avenue man reported a revolver he had loaned a deceased family member was lost or stolen.

Sept. 5

Theft: A motorist pumped $17 worth of gasoline and left a Shell station, 204 W. Liberty St., without paying.

Sept. 6

Assault: Officers received a call regarding a man accused of assaulting a worker at Michael’s Place, 862 N. Main St.

GIRARD

Sept. 4

Burglary: A Washington Avenue man discovered a side door to his home had been forced open before someone took two gold necklaces valued at a total of $900.

Arrest: A traffic stop on Interstate 80 led to the arrest of a 38-year-old Youngstown man on charges of falsification and driving under suspension. The man provided a phony name and Social Security number fearing police would discover his driver’s license was suspended, they said.

Sept. 6

Menacing: An Ohio Avenue woman told authorities a Niles man, 32, threatened over the phone to harm her.

Criminal damaging: A Church Hill Road woman noticed someone used a key to damage the finish on her vehicle’s passenger-side door.

Sept. 7

Theft: A 19-year-old Girard man was picked up on a warrant charging him with one count of theft.
