Drug raids conducted at 2 sites in Niles
NILES — Local police and a state law enforcement officers carried out two drug raids Thursday leading to the seizure of money, drug paraphernalia, a police scanner, a gun, pills and a large quantity of suspected marijuana.
Rasheen Daniels, 24, of Niles, was arrested on an active warrant and charges of trafficking in drugs in the vicinity of juveniles, according to a department press release.
Three children, under age 10, were present in the Royal Mall Drive residence when the search was executed at 3:40 p.m., reports said. Found there were suspected drug paraphernalia, a large quantity of suspected marijuana, and cash.
Charges are forthcoming for a second man, age 26, during the search of a Cherry Avenue address at 10:12 a.m., according to reports. Seized at that residence was suspected drug paraphernalia, a firearm, miscellaneous pills, a police scanner and an undetermined amount of suspected marijuana.
The raids were conducted by the city police department’s narcotics unit and patrol division, and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation.
