YOUNGSTOWN — A 28-year-old city man has been indicted on five felony charges that accuse him of breaking into a house on Belden Avenue and attacking a man with a knife and a gun.

Derrick Harmon of Eastway Drive was indicted Wednesday on charges of aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary, felonious assault and kidnapping. If convicted on the charges, he could face more than 50 years in prison.

Harmon was released on $25,000 bond in late August, which left his victims, Forrest Adams of Belden Avenue and his son, worried about the possibility that Harmon would try to harm them again.

Harmon also was injured when Forrest struck him with a ceremonial ax. Forrest’s 13-year-old son also shot Harmon once in the torso.

Harmon will be arrraigned Sept. 18 in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
