Akron Childrens Hospital buys Beeghly Medical Park

BOARDMAN — Akron Childrens Hospital and Forum Health officials today said the Akron hospital system is buying the Beeghly Medical Park facility to create a pediatric health care center in the Mahoning Valley.

The sale price was not disclosed, and its finality will depend on approval by the state attorney general’s office.

The announcement also means Akron’s plans to occupy the seventh floor of Humility of Mary Health Partners’ new St. Elizabeth Boardman campus are scrapped.

All of Akron’s pediatric services in the Mahoning Valley will be eventually located to the Beeghly campus.

Officials from both health systems, Akron and Forum, announced the sale this morning at the Beeghly Medical park campus.
