One-day festival scheduled at Roosevelt Park

CAMPBELL — Pizza Joe’s staff and committee members will host a benefit extravaganza with entertainment food and fun from noon to 8 p.m. Sept. 16 at Roosevelt Park as a benefit for Angelo Astorga, a 15-year-old leukemia patient.

Featured at the one-day festival will be activities for adults and children. Scheduled are: a 5-K walk/run, 10 to 11:30 a.m.; Chinese auction, noon to 7 p.m.; Madden ’08 tournament, 1 to 6 p.m.; golf chip away-give away, 2 to 5 p.m.; a teen idol contest, 4 to 7 p.m.; and a punt, kick and throw contest, 5 to 7 p.m.

The event will be held annually. The names of anyone with a terminal illness who could benefit from the 2008 event should be submitted to Priscilla Garcia, (330) 921-1975.
