Details

City council is to consider the following action at today’s meeting:

Permit the city to borrow money for one year to pay only the interest on the $11.9 million it spent to fund its portion of the Chevrolet Centre.

Legislation to put a charter amendment on the November general election ballot to overhaul the operations of the city park and recreation commission. The most significant changes would require that commission contracts and purchases go through city council and the board of control and to make the mayor, and not the commission, the appointing authority for all permanent employees.

A ban on the future ownership of pit bull terriers and restrictions in place for current owners of the breed.
