Task force member shoots man on Ohio Avenue

YOUNGSTOWN — A 28-year-old Stewart Avenue man was shot by police in the 1400 block of Ohio Avenue, after he attempted to run down a Mahoning County Violent Crime Task Force member at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Shot was Sean A. Bishop, who is charged with felonious assault. He was taken to St. Elizabeth Health Center for treatment. A hospital spokeswoman said no information on Bishop’s condition was being given out Tuesday night.

According to the Youngstown Police Department, a city police cruiser responded to an investigation on Ohio when Bishop tried to hit a task force agent with his car. That’s when Bishop was shot, police said.
