Video shown at dinner-dance on Rimmer 50th


XLAGO VISTA, Texas — Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Rimmer, 20402 Whiterock Drive, who were married June 29, 1957, at Holy Cross Polish National Church in Youngstown, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 30 in Lago Vista.

The couple were honored at a dinner and dance at K-Oaks on Lake Travis, where a video of their lives was shown.

Family members serving as hosts for the event were Laurel and Rod Hamilton of Yorba Linda, Calif.; Mark and Chris Rimmer of Temecula, Calif. and Dea and Mike Malone of Lago Vista. Participating were their seven grandchildren.

The couple met while trying out for an operetta at East High School in Youngstown. Richard Campbell, who was their teacher and director at that time, traveled to the celebration from Illinois with his wife.

Mrs. Rimmer was an office manager with Vista Unified School District in Vista, Calif., prior to retiring. She is a member of Lago Vista Women’s Club.

Mr. Rimmer is retired after serving 20 years as a senior chief hospital corpsman with the U.S. Navy.

The couple are members of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Lago Vista Dance Club and Hill Country Singers.
