YOUNGSTOWN — Attorney Lynn Sfara Bruno and real estate agency owner Marisa Volpini will be honored at the 12th annual Fall Italian Dinner and Show on Oct. 11 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Social Hall. The show is sponsored by Tony Trolio’s Ciao Productions. Entertainment will be provided by singer Don Felice and comedian Rocco Panzini. Vince Camp of “The Italian Hour” on radio station WNIO-AM 1390 will be master of ceremonies. Tickets for the dinner and show are $39.95; senior citizen and group discounts are available. Bruno was born in New Castle, Pa., to Patrick and Jean Sfara. A 1977 graduate of Mohawk High School, she received her juris doctorate from the University of Akron School of Law in 1983. She has served as Youngstown’s assistant prosecutor and law director, as well as Municipal Court magistrate. She married James A. Bruno in 1986. The couple, who own Bruno’s Restaurant in Poland, have a son, Nicholas James.

Volpini was born Marisa Santedicola in Pacentro, Italy, and came to Youngstown in 1970, where she met Rick Volpini, whom she married. She earned her Ohio real estate sales license in 1981, and opened Volpini & Associates Real Estate in Poland in 1987. Volpini currently owns and operates Real Living Volpini Realty Group. She and her husband also own a building company. The Volpinis have three grown children — Paula, Tony and Laura — and five grandchildren.

Autumn in the Woods

COLUMBIANA — Autumn in the Woods, previously known as  Antiques in the Woods, returns to Shaker Woods next weekend.  This show hosts antique and collectible dealers, as well as primitive and fall items along with pumpkins, gourds, apples, pies and all the sights of autumn in a wooded setting. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Beaver Creek Band and the Silver Eagle Band.   Special events include antique tractors, hit and miss engines,  antique and classic cars, parade of tractors and “olde time”  demonstrations. The dates and hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sept. 9. Admission is $6 (children 12 and under are free). Bus tours are welcome and group rates are available. Parking is free. ‘Musical of Musicals’
opens Oakland season

YOUNGSTOWN —The Oakland Center for the Arts will open its 2007 season Friday with the comic parody, “The Musical of Musicals (The Musical).” Directed by Liz Rubino, “Musical” is a spoof that pays homage to some of musical theater’s best-known composers and lyricists. The same plot is told five times in vignettes written in the styles of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Stephen Sondheim, Jerry Herman, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Kander & Ebb. “Musical” will be staged at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and Sept. 14, 15, 21 and 22; and at 2 p.m. Sept. 16. The cast includes Krista Barr, Anna Frabutt, Robert Dennick Joki, Brianne Kochunas and pianist Tim Webb. The Oakland is located at 220 W. ‘Movies of the Mind’

YOUNGSTOWN — Victorian Players Theatre will open its season Friday with “Movies of the Mind,” directed by Richard Kepley. This play utilizes a unique presentation format: the audience is hearing the readers in a radio studio, but they are seeing the action as if in their minds. The cast of “Movies of the Mind” includes Rex Judd, Gary Deckant, Jennifer Milligan, Tom Smith, Eva Sullivan, Roger Wright, Kelly Sullivan, Maria Wright, C. Richard Haldi and Dr. Robert Secrist. The play will be staged at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and Sept. 14 and 15; and at 2 p.m. Sept. 9 and 16. Move Over Broadway
offers dinner-theater

CANFIELD — Move Over Broadway Productions will present “Sandbag Stage Left, or One Dead Dolly,” a comedy, at 8 p.m. on Sept. 28 and 29, and Oct. 5 and 6; and at 2 p.m. Sept. 30, at St. Michael Church social hall on Route 46.
