Geneva 20, Thiel 3
GREENVILLE, Pa. — Gerald Muschette scored two touchdowns to lead Geneva. Muschette caught a 50-yard touchdown pass from Bobby Bondi with 1:36 left in the second quarter to give Geneva (1-0) a 7-3 lead. The touchdown capped a six-play, 73-yard drive. Muschette scored again with 11:48 left in the third quarter on a 28-yard run. The touchdown capped a 7-play, 74-yard drive. Geneva saved its most impressive drive for the fourth quarter. The Golden Tornadoes drove 67 yards on 14 plays and scored on a two-yard run by Luke Duriancik with 9:37 left. Bondi completed 14 of 24 passes for 165 yards and rushed for 65 yards on 19 carries. Matt Dean added 76 yards on 14 carries for Geneva. Thiel (0-1) scored its only points in the first quarter on a 25-yard field goal by Sammy Koyl.
Dickinson 17, Grove City 13
GROVE CITY, Pa. — Tim Wells ran for two touchdowns to lead the way for Dickinson. Wells scored on runs of 3 yards and 22 yards as Dickinson (1-0) came from behind in the third quarter for the win. Matt Stark kicked a 1-yard field goal in the first quarter to open scoring for the Red Devils. Grove City (0-1) scored in the first quarter when Andrew DiDonato threw a 61-yard pass to Stephen Mercer and in the third quarter on a 1-yard run by Matt Wiel. DiDonato completed 24 of 45 passes for 252 yards. Grove City accumulated 314 yards in total offense. Dickinson had 289 yards in total offense.
Waynesburg 28, Muskingum 10
WAYNESBURG, Pa. — Robert Heller rushed for 230 yards and scored four touchdowns to ignite the Waynesburg attack. Heller scored on runs of 23 yards and 47 yards in the first quarter, 4 yards in the third quarter and 39 yards in the fourth quarter. Waynesburg (1-0) tallied 369 yards of offense, with 329 coming on the ground. Muskingum (0-1) scored on a 40-yard field goal by Brian Gulley in the first quarter and on Terry Holbert’s 25-yard pass to Josh Grafton in the fourth quarter. Muskingum had 254 total yards of offense, but Waynesburg held them to 51 yards on the ground.
West Chester 32, Edinboro 16
EDINBORO, Pa. — Pat McDermott ran for two touchdowns and Osagie Osunde ran for another to pace West Chester. McDermott scored on a pair of nine-yard runs. Osunde rushed for 114 yards on 23 carries and scored on a 20-yard run. West Chester (1-0), ranked No. 17 in NCAA Division II, also scored on a 17-yard pass from Bill Zwaan, and field goals of 38 and 25 by Alex Walsh. Zwaan completed 18 of 29 passes for 217 yards. Edinboro (0-1) scored on a 20-yard field goal by Justin Gomes, a 5-yard pass from Trevor Harris to Rich Cerro, and a 2-yard run by Antwaun Johnson. Harris completed 18 of 29 passes for 141 yards, but was intercepted once and sacked six times. West Chester accumulated 410 yards in total offense, including 193 yards on the ground. Edinboro had 296 yards in total offense.
