COLUMBUS — About 100 Youngstown State University fans — and even a few Ohio State University faithful — enjoyed food, fun and friendship on the Danny Price Memorial Stadium Terrace at OSU’s Recreation and Physical Activities Center.

As a sidenote, the center is absolutely gigantic, filled with the latest exercise equipment.

“Everybody’s having a great time; how could you not?” said Scott Schulick of Youngstown, one of the party’s organizers. “It’s a great celebration for both Youngstown and Ohio State fans.”

Rich LaBerto of Boardman and his daughter, Shelly, also of Boardman and a YSU graduate, were at the party. They are YSU football season ticketholders, attending their first Ohio State game.

The pair were amazed at the size of the OSU campus and Ohio Stadium.

“No matter how often you see it on TV, it’s different in person,” Rich said of the stadium.

The two traveled last year to see the Penguins take on Penn State and to the Pitt game the year prior.

But playing the Buckeyes and seeing Jim Tressel on the sidelines makes this game significantly more exciting, Shelly said.

“It’s a great place to be,” she said.
