House tagged uninhabitable
YOUNGSTOWN — The stench inside a house at 1554 Oak Lane were too much for officers, who found it filled with containers of human waste and infested with insects and dead rodents, reports show.
The single-family dwelling was red-tagged uninhabitable, and the resident was told to leave Thursday, police said.
The son of the owner arrived while police were there and said he would have people clean up the house.
Police called the health department after they saw the “cleaners” summoned by the son throw out furniture covered with human waste.
The health department worker said the owner would make arrangements to have the furniture picked up for disposal and that the cleaners could transport the human waste in personal vehicles to the wastewater treatment plant.
A deputy dog warden was called to check on three dogs tied in the backyard. His report wasn’t immediately available.
