$280,000 granted for sewer line
WARREN — The Ohio Department of Development has awarded Trumbull County a $280,000 grant that will go toward construction of the $1.33 million North River Road sanitary sewer project.
Alan Knapp, director of the county’s planning commission, said Friday the county will know in December or January if the county will receive $350,000 from the state capital improvement fund so construction can begin in July 2008.
In addition to the $280,000 grant, the county will receive $100,000 from its revolving loan fund, $175,000 from property owners and $127,000 the county sanitary engineer’s office is borrowing.
The 4,400-foot line will extend from the line at the Warren city limits on North Park Avenue, north to North River Road and west to Horvath Mobile Home Park on North River in Warren Township. Knapp has said the sewer is needed to alleviate health hazards brought about by outdated sewage treatment facilities.
Glunt Industries will be able to connect to the line along with Thompson Heating and Cooling, Reese Tool and Supply and a couple other small businesses on North River.
