North Lima artist in Chicago show
YOUNGSTOWN — Ilena Finocchi of North Lima, a Youngstown State University graduate, will exhibit her ceramic sculpture in the 14th annual SOFA Chicago exhibit Friday through Sunday.
The international exposition of sculpture, objects and functional art (SOFA) is recognized as the world’s foremost fair for post-craft masterworks bridging design, decorative and fine art. SOFA Chicago, which is held at Navy Pier’s Festival Hall in the Illinois city, includes work from nearly 100 international galleries and dealers from 18 countries.
Finocchi completed her master’s of fine art from Rochester Institute of Technology in 2005 and went on to a summer residency in 2006, at the Archie Bray Foundation for Ceramic Arts in Helena, Mont. Her art has been shown in galleries and museums around the country including the Museum of Art and Design in New York.
