Niles police issue warrant in stabbing death

NILES — City police today issued an arrest warrant charging a man with the stabbing death of his roommate.

The suspect in the death of Ray M. Carroll, 28, of 69 Woodglen Ave., is under guard in the psychiatric unit of Forum Health Trumbull Memorial Hospital. It’s unknown how long suspect Michael McGrath, 30, has been hospitalized.

The chief said Carroll was found in the kitchen of the house they shared about 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. He had appeared to suffer multiple stabbing wounds. Police recovered two knives from the house.
