“Ghost Hunters Live” (9 p.m., Sci Fi Channel): The ghost-seeking duo goes on a live chase again. This time: a six-hour investigation in the Waverly Hills Sanatorium in Louisville, Ky.

“Criminal Minds” (9 p.m., CBS): Mandy Patinkin, we hardly knew you. Tonight, Joe Mantegna (”Joan Arcadia”) joins the cast of “Criminal Minds.” He plays David Rossi, an old-school style agent who comes out of retirement to replace Gideon as the head of the Behavioral Analysis Unit. No doubt, he’ll ruffle a few feathers along the way.

“Monsterquest” (10 p.m., History Channel): Halloween seems like as good a time as any to launch a show called “Monsterquest.” The series puts science and technology to use as it explores legendary tales such as the one tonight about a Loch Ness-type creature purported to be lurking in Lake Champlain.

“Taboo: Gross Foods” (10 p.m., National Geographic Channel): If it’s creepy, crawly and squishy, it’ll be served up on this plate.
