Father of starved Erie baby pleas no contest in infant’s death

ERIE, Pa. (AP) — The father of an infant who starved to death has pleaded no contest in his son’s death and will likely be sentenced to up to eight years in prison.

Nathan W. Rosier Sr. did not contest charges that his failure to feed his son, Nathan Rosier Jr., led to his death on Oct. 13, 2006. The charges against him also pertain to the infant’s twin brother, Tyler Rosier, who was found malnourished, but survived.

The infants’ mother, Crystal Peace, did not contest similar charges and has been sentenced to between two to eight years. Her father, Larry Peace, whose home they lived in, pleaded guilty to lesser charges and has been sentenced to two to four years.

In exchange for his plea, the father will likely be given the same sentence as the boys’ mother.
