“Breaking the Magician’s Code” (8 p.m., MNTV): How do magicians do it? The secrets behind their smoothly executed stunts are usually carefully guarded, but this one-hour special reveals the reality behind some of the best-known magic tricks.

“The Iron Mask” (9 p.m., MNTV): “The Iron Mask” features five ironclad participants confessing their most shameful revelations to a studio audience. Host Nancy Glass offers each participant a chance to unmask at the end of their confessions.

“Reaper” (9 p.m., The CW): It’s quickly becoming apparent that veteran actor Ray Wise, who plays the devil, is the best thing about “Reaper.” The latest episode has the Prince of Darkness in a state of depression because it’s Halloween and everyone if making fun of him. We figure he’ll take it out on Sam.

“Nip/Tuck” (10 p.m., FX): The edgy plastic surgery drama “Nip/Tuck” gets a drastic makeover in its fifth season as the action moves to Beverly Hills, where Christian and Sean struggle to rebuild McNamara/Troy from the ground up. Guest stars in the opener include Oliver Platt, Bradley Cooper and Daphne Zuniga.
