Valley rapper grabs state, national attention

YOUNGSTOWN — He’s still unsigned, but Youngstown rapper Kenny Ali has moved a big step closer to breaking out.
Ali is getting some high-profile attention, thanks to coverage he received in the current edition of Hip Hop Weekly magazine.

Ali is the main topic on the unsigned acts page of Hip Hop Weekly.

Shortly after the magazine hit newsstands Friday, Ali’s phone began ringing as friends called to tell him about it.

“I knew [Hip Hop Weekly was] interested in me, but I was surprised when I found out I was in the magazine,” Ali said.
