Cardinal Mooney wins Div. IV AP poll title

For the second straight year, Cardinal Mooney won the Associated Press Division IV football poll title, garnering 25 of 28 first place votes to easily outdistance Steubenville, which won the past two Div. III state titles.

Mooney (10-0), which also won last year’s Div. IV state championship, has won 24 straight games. Its last loss came to Coldwater in the 2005 state championship game.

South Range, which won last year’s Div. V poll crown, finished second to Maria Stein Marion Local in this year’s final poll, which was released at 6:30 p.m. today.
