“Silence of the Bees” (2 p.m., PBS): Seems that an insect crucial to our food supply and economy is disappearing in droves. “Silence of the Bees,” the latest installment of Nature, explores possible reasons for the decline in the honeybee population and what could happen if the problem isn’t solved.

“Chuck” (8 p.m., NBC): Turns out that our lovable nerd in “Chuck” isn’t alone. Tonight, he meets a fellow agent who is leading a similar life. He’s a gadget whiz, whose brain makes him a national security asset and a dangerous liability. Chuck is torn between turning him in or helping him escape his handlers.

“American Masters: Good Ol’ Charles Schulz” (9 p.m., PBS): You would think that life would be pure bliss for a man who presided over a billion-dollar cartoon world and coined the phrase “Happiness is a warm puppy.” But this nuanced and sometimes startling portrait reveals that the “Peanuts” creator spent much of his life struggling with self-doubt, insecurity and personal isolation. Before dying at age 77 in 2000, Schulz spent nearly 50 years drawing upon the adventures of Charlie Brown, Snoopy and company, redefining the comic art form in the process. Along the way, many of Schulz’s own trials and tribulations were reflected in his characters on a daily basis. “Good Ol’ Charles Schulz” includes excerpts from classic ‘Peanuts’ television specials, archival footage, personal photos and home movies.
