New Castle seeks advisory team volunteers

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — The city’s financial recovery team is looking for volunteers to serve on a community advisory team.

The creation of a community advisory team is one of the directives in the city’s recovery plan under state Act 47.

The team, consisting of individuals from local institutions, businesses and nonprofit organizations as well as community members, will meet with city staff to discuss possible ideas for spending reductions, ways to increase revenue and improve services, among other topics.

The team will meet regularly to provide the city with additional ideas and suggestions for improving services and running the city more efficiently. The recovery team consists of Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott of Pittsburgh and Public Financial Management of Philadelphia.

People interested in serving on the advisory team should send their names and contact information to Kathy Clark at kclark@eckertseamans.com.
