Akron (3-5, 2-2) has dropped three of its last four and struggled offensively against the Bulls. The Zips managed 327 yards as Bryan Williams ran for 87 yards on 21 carries. Vanderbilt 24, Miami (Ohio) 13

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Becoming the top pass catcher in Southeastern Conference history is special. Celebrating with a victory is even better. Ask Earl Bennett. Bowling Green (4-4, 2-2) pulled to within a point on a field goal by Sinisa Vrvilo and Anthony Turner’s 12-yard touchdown run.
