Vandals hit Poland school property

POLAND — Vandals made their opinions known in anticipation of Friday’s big high school football game between the rival Poland Bulldogs and Canfield Cardinals.

School officials arrived Friday morning to find spray paint on the building housing football lockers and the football field. The game was played Friday night.

Superintendent Dr. Robert Zorn and township Police Chief Brian Goodin said the graffiti on the field said “expletive Poland” and on the building read “We eat dog meat,” and “Cardinals Rule, Beat Poland.”

Zorn said the school maintenance staff power-washed the building and field to rid it of the spray paint.

If the perpetrators can be identified and apprehended, the school district may seek restitution, the superintendent said.
