Ex-deputy clerk indicted in theft

WARREN – A former deputy clerk in the Trumbull County clerk of court’s Office will be arraigned Thursday in the theft of $5,314 from the Auto Title Division.

Stella Coletti, 36, of Deer Creek Trail, Cortland, will be arraigned on a theft charge before Judge John M. Stuard of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court.

She was arrested in July on the charge but was not indicted by the Trumbull County grand jury until earlier this week.

According to an affidavit supporting her arrest, U.S. Bank contacted the auto title department asking why one of its customers had not received an auto title for a check that had already cleared.

The check had been deposited on a day when Coletti was serving as acting bookkeeper in place of one who was on sick leave.

Other paperwork showed Coletti was responsible for various other discrepancies since February of this year involving sales tax and title fees.

Also indicted was Jeremy T. Hendrex, 27, of Valencia Drive, Weathersfield Township. He was arraigned Friday before Judge Stuard, who set bond at $20,000 on charges of child endangering and felonious assault. He remains in the county jail.

Hendrex is accused of causing head trauma to 4-month-old Alyssa Jarome at her home. Hendrex was dating the baby’s mother at the time. Alyssa remains hospitalized.
