City man dies in argument over video game

YOUNGSTOWN — An argument between two men over a video game turned deadly this morning as one of the men shot the other in the head “to protect me and my family.”

When police arrived at the home of Allen K. Frost, 37, of 1012 Crandall Ave., at about 10:25 a.m., Allen was talking on a telephone. Officers stayed with Allen as other officers went upstairs to find the body of an 18-year-old man dead in the living room.

The name of the victim was not being released late this evening pending notification of family.

Frost told officers that people inside the house were “getting high” when he and the victim got into an argument “over losing a video game.”

Frost said he shot the man during the argument.

Officers recovered a 38-caliber revolver on a bed in the bedroom.

Frost was taken to the Mahoning County Jail and is charged with murder. The shooting death would be the city’s 28th homicide this year.
