NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — The Titans improve their record to 13-3-2 on the season and 6-0 in the Prsidents’ Athletic Conference while the Cougars drop to 4-10-2 and 0-5-1 in the league. The win for the Titans sets up Saturday’s 2 p.m. showdown at home with Thomas More, a 1-0 overtime winner at Bethany Wednesday. The winner will grab the top seed in next week’s PAC Tournament. Westminster jumped to a 3-0 lead with goals in the 26th, 30th and 33rd minutes and the Titans held the three-goal advantage before tacking on four goals in the final 18 minutes. Freshman Lindsay Moyer scored the first two goals of her career in the 72nd and 83rd minutes for the Titans. Three other Titans registered at least three points with a goal and an assist, including freshmen Krista Goralczyk, Sarah Nee and Kristin Kajari. Senior Brittany McKee (Hubbard) and sophomore Meredith Sabol each had two assists.

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- Sophomore forwards Lauren Woodring and Michelle Peck scored in the second half, helping Grove City (14-2-1) earn a Presidents’ Athletic Conference victory. Woodring scored her sixth goal of the season at 50:34, giving Grove City a 1-0 lead. She now has two game-winning goals in the last week. Peck then scored an insurance goal at 77:56 after an assist from freshman Emily Ostlund . It is Peck’s fourth goal of the season. Junior goalkeepers Bethany Preston and Diana Pragel combined for the Wolverines’ 10th shutout this season. Preston stopped three shots in the first half while Pragel had a pair of saves in the second half. Grove City owned a 22-6 shot edge over Geneva (2-14-1), including a 12-2 advantage in the second half. Grove City will wrap up the regular season Saturday afternoon at Thiel at 3 p.m.

BETHANY, W.Va. – Bethany College sophomore Jason Straw scored with just 1:40 left in regulation to give the Bison (8-6-3, 3-1-2)the victory. Bethany will close out the regular season Friday with a 7 p.m. match at Geneva (Pa.) College, which will not count in the PAC standings since the Golden Tornadoes are a provisional member of Division III. Next Wednesday, the Bison will play in the semifinals of the PAC Tournament on the road as ether the third or fourth seed.

BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Grove City College men’s soccer team snapped a three-game slide in a clash of Presidents’ Athletic Conference members at the Merriman Soccer Complex. Freshman Jake Kern gave Grove City (5-8-4) a quick 1-0 lead as he scored his third goal of the season at 3:06. Classmate Dave Larkin assisted Kern’s goal. Grove City extended the lead to 2-0 at 50:48 as sophomore Sean Osborne registered his second goal of 2007. Junior Matt Sol assisted Osborne’s goal. Senior goalkeeper Michael Manahan stopped three shots to record the shutout. It is Manahan’s 23rd career shutout. Grove City outshot Geneva (11-6), 13-9. Each team had four corner kicks. The Wolverines played the final 25:47 of the match with just 10 men after Larkin received a red card. Grove City concludes the 2007 season Saturday at Thiel at 1 p.m.
