Police find marijuana growing site

LORDSTOWN—A 27-year-old woman is charged with drug abuse and drug paraphernalia after police noticed a smell of burnt marijuana.

Nicole Strader of Woodridge Way was arrested last week, when police arrived at her residence to issue a summons for a zoning violation to John Lago, who resides there.

After police smelled the odor, Strader said she had been smoking marijuana and turned over a piece of drug paraphernalia and a minor amount of alcohol.

A search warrant obtained by the Lordstown Police Department with the assistance of the Trumbull, Ashtabula, Geauga Drug Task Force, revealed numerous items for indoor growing of marijuana.

Police believe it was a small operation, but with the equipment confiscated, a larger growing operation was possible.
