GREENVILLE, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police say an Otter Creek Township man has been missing since Oct. 16. Nicholas James Saylor, 22, of Donation Road is white, 5 feet 6 inches tall, about 145 pounds with red hair and brown eyes. He was last seen leaving his home wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt, blue jeans and a tan baseball cap. Anyone knowing his whereabouts is asked to call state police at (724) 662-6162.

OVI checkpoint planned

A sobriety checkpoint will be held in Mahoning County from 10 p.m. Saturday until 2 a.m. Sunday. Members of the Mahoning County Operating Vehicle Impaired Task Force will target impaired drivers.

Gun dealer faces charges

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police have charged a Croton Avenue gun dealer with receiving stolen property and uniform firearms acts violations. Police said Joseph Venasco, 66, of Lakewood Road was charged Tuesday, a day after state police served a search warrant on his business, Allegheny Outfitters. Police said they seized 225 weapons as part of their search. More details were not available Wednesday from state police.

Hunters found

WEST FARMINGTON — Two hunters lost in the Grand River Wildlife Management Area just west of here were found late Tuesday night by a Stat Medevac crew using night goggles. Trumbull County 911 said the men, whose names weren’t available, entered the woods around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday near state Routes 88 and 534. One of the men called 911 around 9:05 p.m. to report they were lost. The county sheriff’s office and Farmington Fire Department organized a search effort and 911 reported the men were found, unharmed, by the helicopter crew around 10:45 p.m.

New Castle store robbed

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — City police said Wednesday that a gunman robbed the Country Fair market in the Plaza South. Police said he made workers and shoppers get on their knees and took money from the cash register about 10:20 a.m. Tuesday.
