YOUNGSTOWN — United Community Financial Corp. declared a quarterly dividend of 9.5 cents a share. It is payable Dec. 15 to shareholders of record as of Nov. 30. United Community is the holding company for Home Savings and Loan Co. and Butler Wick Corp
PST public offering
HOWLAND — Stoneridge said its PST Industria Eletronica da Amazonia Ltda. joint venture has filed for an initial public offering of stock with the Brazilian Securities Commission. Howland-based Stoneridge owns 50 percent of PST. Stoneridge makes wiring systems for vehicles and had sales last year of $709 million.

AT&T net income reaches
$3.1B in third quarter
SAN ANTONIO — Catapulted by its acquisition of BellSouth Corp., AT&T Inc. reported Tuesday net income of $3.1 billion in the third quarter, 42 percent higher than in the same period last year.
Revenue nearly doubled to $30.1 billion in July through September, from $15.6 billion a year earlier, including growth separate from the merger in its wireless business and its segment that caters to large business customers.
AT&T added 2 million wireless subscribers, the third highest increase in the company’s history, for a total of 65.7 million subscribers. The quarter began two days after the June 29 introduction of Apple Inc.’s iPhone, which operates exclusively on AT&T’s wireless network.
AK Steel Holding profits
quadruple in third quarter
CINCINNATI — AK Steel Holding Corp.’s profit quadrupled in the third quarter, but the steelmaker’s cautionary forecast for the rest of the year caused share prices to slip from near-record highs.
Higher shipments and selling price contributed to earnings of $108.4 million, or 97 cents a share, in the quarter ended Sept. 30, up from $26 million, or 23 cents a share, a year earlier. Sales totaled $1.72 billion, up 11 percent from $1.55 billion a year ago.
