Lower library fines with food donations

Reduce your fines and help your community Nov. 1 through Nov. 30 at one of the six Trumbull County libraries (Bristol, Girard, Hubbard, Kinsman, McKinley Memorial and Newton Falls) that have formed the Trumbull Independent Public Libraries [TiPL] Consortium. The consortium is sponsoring its second Annual Food for Fines Drive.

To lower fines, donate only nonperishable items at the circulation desk. The items must be designed for sale as a package (not one item of a package). The following will not be accepted: glass containers, opened or expired items, alcoholic beverages, canned or bottled beverages, candy or U.S. government food. For lost and/or damaged library materials, food will not be accepted.

All items brought in for fines at the Hubbard Library will be donated to the Hubbard Food Pantry. Donating two items will waive fines of up to $5.00. For more details about the drive, the requirements and restrictions at each location, contact your local TiPL Consortium library.
