Reward for information

SOUTHINGTON — The family of Michael D. Brown, who was killed by a hit-and-run driver in August, is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the driver.

Brown, 32, was struck and killed about 10:10 p.m. Aug. 16 on state Route 82 at Collar Price Road in Brookfield Township. The Ohio State Highway Patrol at Southington said Brown, wearing a helmet, was westbound on Route 82 when the driver of a pickup truck pulled into the intersection.

The truck is described as a late 1990s to early 2000s Ford F-150, possibly maroon, with a large rebel flag decal across the rear window and after-market rims. The vehicle would have sustained damage to the lower body panel portion of the driver’s side. The driver is described as a middle-aged white man with short, light-colored hair. Anyone having information is asked to contact the patrol, (330) 898-2311.

Robbed in parking lot

BOARDMAN — A 20-year-old restaurant employee says she was robbed while making a night deposit. The woman, from a pizza eatery in the Southern Park Mall, told police that she went to National City Bank, Market Street, about 10 p.m. Saturday night.

When she got out of her car, a maroon Oldsmobile pulled into a spot near her, and the driver, a man in his late 20s wearing a black hoodie and a skull cap, got out, pulled a gun and demanded the money.

The woman fled through the parking lot and the man chased her in the car, striking the back of her legs with the front of his car. The woman fell and threw the deposit bag at the man. He then fled in the car toward Tinseltown theater.

The woman declined medical treatment. Police found the car early the next day in the theater parking lot.
